Tips. Professional Advice. A look into the world of Microsoft Dynamics. # B2C Platforms Vs. Microsoft Dynamics' B2B Ecommerce Posted by [Alanna Friedberg](https://www.iesgp.com/blog/author/alanna-friedberg) on Feb 3, 2015 7:09:00 PM ![b2c_platforms](https://www.iesgp.com/hubfs/blogs/b2c_platforms.jpg)There are many different options available for the business that is seeking to build an online commerce, so what is important to know about [Dynamics GP eCommerce](https://www.iesgp.com/dynamics-gp-ecommerce) vs other available ecommerce platforms? ## **OPEN SOURCE VS COMMERCIALLY SUPPORTED** Many businesses are drawn to open source software suites, because they are usually robust and free. This is deceptive. When it comes to your unique business solutions, both open source and commercially supported licences will require customization, so the costs even out in the long run. Open source is free, but requires more labor costs over time. Commercial systems like Microsoft Dymanics GP are supported by Microsoft, and usually customized and supported by the agency selling the product. ## **B2C VS. B2B** Most all eCommerce solutions are geared towards business-to-consumer sales (B2C). While this is great for Ebay sales companies, your company has a different clientele and needs different solutions for meeting their needs. Business-to-business sales need tailored solutions.Dynamics eCommerce solutions are tailored for your business customers. ## **SHOPPING CARTS VS. ONLINE WEB ORDERING** You have bought things online, you are used to the shopping cart experience. This is great for consumers, but for a business, being able to enter the right information quickly and efficiently is more important that a flashy ordering system. B2B systems are specifically tailored to empower your sales people and marketing, rather than to confuse order taking with selling. ## **IMPORTING INFORMATION VS ERP INTEGRATION** Consumer shopping software has some limited integration with accounting software. You need complete ERP integration for your eCommerce solutions, not just accounting, but inventory, CRM, and more. Dynamics is an ERP software solution, and integrated eCommerce gives you business-wide control over your incoming orders. While providing many of the advantages your average online shopping cart program would give, IES's [eCommerce Manager](https://www.iesgp.com/dynamics-gp-ecommerce) integrates all your Dynamics GP solutions for your business with your customer's online ordering. These solutions drastically improve any B2C solutions on the market, so [contact us to find out more](https://www.iesgp.com/contact).  [![            WHY IES?           ](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/679984/d56ad274-f025-4370-87d9-d52a3d21b969.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/679984/d56ad274-f025-4370-87d9-d52a3d21b969) ### Written by [Alanna Friedberg](https://www.iesgp.com/blog/author/alanna-friedberg) Topics: [Microsoft Gold Certified Partner](https://www.iesgp.com/blog/topic/microsoft-gold-certified-partner), [Microsoft Dynamics GP](https://www.iesgp.com/blog/topic/microsoft-dynamics-gp), [Microsoft CRM Banking](https://www.iesgp.com/blog/topic/microsoft-crm-banking), [Business Solutions](https://www.iesgp.com/blog/topic/business-solutions) ### Recent Posts ### Posts by Topic -
