How Do I Enable Power BI in Dynamics 365?

To start using Power BI visualizations within Dynamics 365, go into the Settings of the Dynamics 365 Administration panel. Next, navigate to Administration -> System Settings -> Reporting. From there, click on Allow Power BI visualization embedding.

Perform the following steps if you wish to embed a Power BI dashboard within Dynamics 365.

  1. If you have Dynamics 365 Marketing, Sales, or Service, navigate to the Dashboards menu.
  2. Select one of your previously installed dashboards or click New to start a new one.
  3. Once you’re in the dashboard, click an area where you wish to add a tile.
  4. Next, go to the toolbar and click Power BI Tile. Remember that it’s not possible to add Power BI dashboards to Dynamics 365 system dashboards.
  5. When the Add Component dialog appears, select your desired Power BI dashboard and tile. Then, click Enable for mobile to make the tile available for mobile devices.
  6. Click OK.
